A Little Sip of Heaven...

That's what I say when I taste a great coffee drink!  I got this at Olive Garden the other day... a hazelnut caramel macchiato.  Oh MAN!  One of the best drinks I've ever had.  Almost five dollars, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get one of these every time I go there!

I rolled my injured ankle AGAIN and almost passed out -- not sure if it was from the pain or the fear of breaking it again.  I had a light brace on, but now I'm going to wear one of these whenever playing volleyball.  There's no way to twist my ankle with this baby on!

Two of my favorite people on God's green earth!

I bought this gadget at the Del Mar Fair years ago.  People make fun of it, but I love it.  It doesn't waste any potato, and I think it's easier than peeling with a knife.

I've even ordered replacement blades for it.

Still working on wedding prep, it's fast approaching... that'll be my next entry!

Welcome 2014!

Well, I did get a little motivated and made some candy before Christmas.  I do like having something to give to people that doesn't cost a lot and isn't something that will sit around on a shelf and eventually be donated to Good Will.  At least I hope not... ha!

We had a good Christmas and New Year.  Chris and I were off for a lot of those two weeks.  We also celebrated 29 years of marriage.  Will definitely have to do something major for year 30!  How do you top the Alaskan Cruise we took for 25 years, though?  I'm sure I'll think of something!

Wedding prep is fully underway for Amy's upcoming marriage on February 10.  My mom and sister are flying out, and I am taking that week off... really looking forward to it.  We are supposedly making these cake pops for the wedding.  I did a practice run, and they are a lot harder than they look or sounded in the instructions, so we will see.  The back-up plan is to just make them for the wedding party!

It has been such a warm winter... I am wondering if we are even going to get any daytime cool temps or rain!  While playing volleyball over the weekend, the fog started rolling in for a time.  Maybe that was the extent of our winter... I wouldn't mind!

Ally is getting ready to start college and finish up the last of her prerequisites before formally applying to the radiology program at Mesa in the summer.  If she gets into the program (it's a lottery), she'll start in the fall.  If not, she will continue teaching at the preschool and try again the next year.  She really likes working at the preschool, so that's good.  If she tries a couple times and doesn't make it in, then plan B is to pay the big bucks for the same education at a private school.
