Armed and Dangerous!

Well hopefully not dangerous... in June I went to Spouse Academy at Chris's work and they let us shoot several different types of guns.  A pellet gun that disperses tear gas, a semi-automatic machine gun, and a pistol.  I got hooked.

Chris took me shooting a couple times.  Since then I have purchased two guns and am thinking about a third.  Really fun.  Ally is into, too, but she can't own a gun in California until she's 21.  So she has to use mine for now.  She is a great shot.  She even beat Chris.

My first gun, a Glock 17 (9mm)

Second, a mini-Glock 27 (40 cal)

Watch out, people!

Mid-Life Crisis

So Chris will turn 50 this year, and I will in 2015.  Where does the time go?  I'm thinking I will most definitely go through a mid-life crisis, and I think I will need this to pull me out of it... the new Mazda Miata.

Seriously thinking about it.  But not red.  Maybe blue.  It's cheaper than the Highlander we have.  It comes out in 2015.  The only thing is, in my old age, will I be able to get in and out of it with out an ejection seat?  Haha!

Family Perks!

It pays to have a hair stylist in the family.  Amy works at a salon at the Viejas Outlet Center.  She enjoys her work and is really good!

Ally gets the treatment!

We all got our hair done for Amy's wedding earlier this year.  Mom discount!

My mom (Audrey), Ally, Connie (Me), my sister (Kathy).

Bolt Up!

Football season has started again... we have season tickets again this year.  So fun!

The Navy jumpers started off the first pre-season game.  You have to be in your seats at least 20 minutes early to see these guys!

We bought our friends pre-season tickets for both home games and were able to share!

It get's hot!

Viva La Mexico!

Ally has been dating Manuel for some time now... Manuel had to go to Mexico City and wanted to show Ally around.  It took some convincing, but we decided to let her go.  They stayed with his mom.  We were able to Face Time which helped a lot.  They even visited our Wesleyan Church in Puebla.  They came back on one piece -- hooray!

Leaving...

The pyramids.

Ferris wheel in Puebla.

Their house in Puebla.

Yummy!

My gift... the best!

Retreat!

Ally and I went to the women's retreat for our church.  It was held at Point Loma Nazarene University down at the coast.  We had a great time and learned our "strengths" from Strength Finders.  Ally performed in the "No Talent Show" with her fancy hula-hooping.  Didn't get a good pic of that, but we had tons of fun!

Some kooky photo someone made of me!

The view from our dorm room...

Work it!

Spouse Academy

Chris's work had a day where the spouses could come in and learn all about Homeland Security and shoot some weapons, have a tour of the border, etc.  I was all really fun, and it was nice to have his work do something for the families.  I actually shot really well, and ended up purchasing a Glock for myself later on.  This is the day that really got me started shooting.  More on that in a future post.

This made me kinda sad, families meeting at the border to talk to each other through the fence.

Graduated -- sign me up!

A Fair Day

We went to the San Diego County Fair... one of my favorite places to go each year.  We go after I get off work at 2 p.m. on a day when Chris is off.  Most people are at work or school, so it's not too crowded!

My favorite -- Aussie Chips which are battered fried potatoes with ranch and cheese!  Yum!

We ARE getting older!  Need to rest!

My dad's favorite flower, the trumpet vine.

See you again next year, fair!

Almost the Big One!

I turned 49 on May 30.  Had an AWESOME day.  Both my girls and their guys were there.  We are at one of my favorite restaurants, Miguels in Coronado.  We also went to the luxury theater in Del Mar and saw Maleficent, which I really liked.

Ally & Manuel, Bree & Rio, Chris & Connie, Dylan and Amy.

Chris got me this awesome birthday card.  He knows me.

Hope we don't fall asleep at the movies!

Next year, it's the big one for sure!!!!  At least Chris has the big one first.
