Exhausted...

I was in charge of the registration team this week at our church Sports Camp for the kids. We had

over 100 children attend. I worked each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then went to the church from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Over 50 kids accepted Christ! I am exhausted and stayed in bed until noon today. Next week it's back on schedule and back to the gym.

Chris came home with sad news on Friday. An agent had been shot in the head three times by illegals, and they took the agent's gun and radio and apparently ran back in to Mexico. They found some of the criminal's blood at the site, but I doubt they will ever find out exactly what happened. There was a group sneaking in and three agents went after them. The group separated and the agents split up to follow each group, which is not uncommon. There were gunshots and the agent was found alone and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was young and had two small children. Chris said this is why he is so violent when someone just tries to stand up who has been ordered to sit down. I am not sure when the funeral is, Chris did not know him personally. Chris is flying out in the Pine Valley area all week to assist in the search and for extra back-up.

Tomorrow the kids from Sports Camp will sing in church, and I will also be ushering. Might see a movie... but I might be too tired also! Even though I am exhuasted, I feel good knowing it's all for the Cause.

Late Night at the ER

Last night Ally slipped on some wet carpet at volleyball and ended up in the ER to have two toes x-rayed to rule out any breaks or dislocations. Fortunately for her and her cross country, skating, and boxing careers, there will be no lasting effects. She has a walking boot and instructions to keep it elevated and iced for a week then be seen by her doctor. Nothing visible on the x-ray, so that's good news. We had fun in the ER though and were so tired we were laughing so hard! We got home after 2 a.m.

I made candy to take to volleyball -- this time it was chocolate covered oreos. I had a mold and they turned out pretty good, but I really needed the cookies to

be a little thinner. After awhile I gave up and just dipped some cookies... they were tasty!

Something New!

I am attempting to start a new blog here. I think it will be easier to maintain than my original blog with Cox Communications. I am new to this site, so things will probably look nicer and improve as I learn more.

On Sunday an earthquake woke me up at 7:30 a.m. -- found out later it was a 4.0 about 20 miles off the coast of Coronado. I felt the bed shaking and heard a little rattling from the windows. Then I went right back to sleep and forgot all about it until I heard it on the news that night. I'm a true Californian now -- I just go back to sleep (it used to freak me out).

I am gearing up for VBS at our church next week. Just entered all the info for 80 kids into an Excel worksheet. We're hoping for 200. Looking forward to it... I have a team of 8 to help me out, so we should be set!

I will post slideshows on my blog homepage with updated photos for all to see. Enjoy!
