Fantastic!

Amy is so excited -- she got hired at Fantastic Sams!  She gets to quit Burger King after five looooong years and begin cutting hair.  She loves the owner, and the girls that all work there have been so nice.

Our car case settled with Ford.  They bought back our 2012 Ford Explorer under the Lemon Laws of California due to non repair during a reasonable about of time (they had our brand new Explorer for eight weeks when the power steering inexplicably went out).  It basically came down to them refunding all our payments we had made so far.  With that money we bought new living room furniture, so that was nice.  We bought a new Toyota Highlander on the last day of the year for zero down and zero percent financing.  So we are pretty happy with that.

I lost ten pounds in January by cutting out most processed foods, diet soda, and caffeine.  I am counting calories instead of doing Weight Watcher's this time.  So, we will see.

Some Like It Hot

I don't like it TOO hot -- it got up to 84 over the weekend.  But considering we had just had a low of 28 the week before, I'll take it.  We had a few really cold nights with cool days, but now it's warmed back up to the high 70's.  We took this pic of the Star of India down at the harbor.

This is my foot -- just to prove I was at the beach, it was warm, and I was playing volleyball!

Amy just got hired at Fantastic Sam's in Lakeside.  She got her cosmetology license in November and had been looking for a job.  We are glad it's so close to home.  She is very excited to quit Burger King -- she's been there five years!

Ally started having pains in her stomach and had to have her appendix out yesterday after spending all night in the emergency room.  She is doing really well.  The timing could not have been better with her still on winter break from college.  She will start classes again on the 29th.

Our Ford case was finally settled -- they bought our 2012 Explorer back.  When all was said and done we ended up with about $4,000.00 which went to season tickets for the Chargers and some new living room furniture... hooray!
