Scrapping Memories One Page at a Time

Here's the rest of my summer scrapbooking... all caught up again! I still need to print these and get them in my scrapbooks, a couple of them are two-page spreads. Of course, I still have a giant box of photos to go through that were passed on from Chris' mom... I think that's a job for when we retire.

Endless Summer...

... 'nuff said!

I was sick this week with some sort of 24 hours virus with chills, fever, and aches. Just thankful it wasn't worse. Amy is sick now and threw up last night, hopefully it ends just as quickly for her. Something is going around here -- lots of people are sick.

There is a flock of wild parrots that zip around East County squawking their heads off. We hear them every now and then from our house. I heard they started from a couple pet parrots that got loose. There must be over 100 of them now. The other day they landed right in our tree, and Ally's camera happened to be nearby.

Ally and I had dentist appointments in La Jolla. We visited La Jolla Cove and ate Thai food, then I took this pic of the full moon on the way home.

My sister sent me this pic -- it's in her work parking lot. Seriously? With my digital speedometer, I couldn't tell how I would figure that out, but she said it's to get your attention... guess it worked.

Ally leaves tomorrow for her school retreat for a few days. Chris and I plan to spend the afternoon and evening together tomorrow. We might head to Coronado or near the beach to try and cool off a little. It's supposed to be H-O-T through next weekend. Guess it's payback for that nice, cool summer.

Cruisin' into Fall

The cruise was phenomenal! I would do it again in a minute... and that's saying a lot... once I've been somewhere I'd rather use my time and resources to visit somewhere new. The scenery was the most gorgeous I've ever seen, and we've traveled to about 40 states, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Israel, Honduras...

The balcony on our ship was the best. We sat out there sipping lattes and watching scenery and wildlife go by. We saw whales, bears, mountain goats, seals, sea lions, dolphins, starfish, bald eagles and other birds, and even jellyfish (didn't know there were jellyfish in cold water). Chris got to see killer whales that were breaching, but Ally and I weren't with him at the time. I intend to put a slideshow together for the end of this blog page eventually. The sunsets from the balcony were awesome, too. Here's a few of the best photos for now (we flew to Seattle the day before and ate at the top of the Space Needle, then cruised Alaska's Inside Passage for a week).
