Mom's Visit

I dropped off the face(book) of the earth for the last few weeks while mom visited from Ohio. She escaped some serious weather back there and was super-happy to be visiting. I have a feeling her winter visits will become longer and longer in the future.

We had a great time -- went to the zoo...

Made candies...

And went on an awesome nature cruise to the Coronado Islands. I will post a slideshow at the bottom of this page when I get a chance, and here's a cool video we shot of some of the dolphins swimming along side the ship. We saw three different types of dolphins... very cool!

We ate so unhealthy -- I'm back on track now. There are just too many good places to eat out here! I am still waiting on my kitchen floor to arrive, but my stove/micro combo is going in in the next couple days. Will post pics when it's all finished.

The most important news -- we booked a mini-suite on an Alaskan cruise at the end of August. Soooo excited. By going that last week in August while most kids are back in school, we saved a ton of money and were able to get the mini-suite... which means more room, which is Chris' main complaint. He's a bathroom man (don't tell him I posted that here) and can't handle a tiny little toilet/room.

Gramsy Visits

Trying to get a few minutes to post... it's 11:30 p.m. and we've been so busy with my mom visiting, I don't have much time for computers these days.

Here's a photo of some help Chris had at the border the other night...

We had an earthquake a few days ago, and it woke me up. It was around a 5.0 down in Baja. Amy came in my room a few minutes later to ask me if I felt it. She said she thought about jumping out the window... I thought, good grief, what's she gonna do when a big one comes.

The roof hasn't leaked since they temporarily repaired it, but I still need to talk to the HOA about repair of my ceiling inside, and now I noticed some stains on the carpet. Looks like it went down the inside of the wall somewhat.

Frank and Thelma came into town for a couple days. We spent the day running Thelma around to shop. She is so deprived in Sedona... of shopping anyway!

Ohio's getting snow right now. We saw pics of it on Facebook -- made mom glad she's out here for awhile. We saw Blind Side -- I had already seen it, but Mom and Ally hadn't. Loved it again.

Made some more candies with some new cool molds I got. Having fun trying out some new things.

Also tried our hand at glass etching -- not bad for a first piece.

I went to an Apple store for the first time (or a Mac store, or I-Store?). It was so crowded in the middle of the day on a Thursday -- what's that all about? The only Apple thing I have right now is my Ipod... but maybe the Ipad someday!
